Vanessa is a qualified BASI Pilates instructor and has been teaching Pilates since 2006.
While working in a corporate environment, she noticed her posture was starting to deteriorate. As a result, she enlisted the help of an Alexander technique practitioner, working with them for nearly a year.
Following on from this, her keen interest in exercise and movement led her towards discovering Pilates, the benefits it held for her own health, and subsequently, once teaching, the health of others.
Vanessa’s Pilates teaching career started at a Physiotherapy practise in Johannesburg, and currently she teaches from her own private studio working from her home, on the Garden Route, South Africa.
Her clients have included many with different physical issues; she has noticed that the more quality time a client spends working on strengthening their bodies, with good alignment in mind, physical problems fall away.
Vanessa has completed regular Pilates courses to update and increase her understanding of Pilates, and of the human body and how well it functions when mind and muscles are strong and balanced.
Vanessa has a warm and caring nature, together with a positive attitude and a great senso of humour making her classes challenging, focused and fun.
