We have a limited number of Studio mat Pilates classes on our timetable.  Studio 1 classes are limited to a maximum of five participants; and other mat classes to a maximum of 10 participants.

Included in the Studio mat category is Beginners/Improvers; Mat Pilates for All; Core Pilates Mat; Arc & Weights;

All Studio Mat classes are taught on ‘raised mats’. This makes the sessions highly accessible, without the need to get down onto the floor.  Pilates principles and breathing are taught in each class. Expect to understand a little and to feel benefits after 6 weeks. Others may notice a change in you after 12 weeks. A number of different pricing options for Studio Mat are available. At The Studio, each reformer has a mat converter, enabling it to become a ‘raised mat’, providing an unsurpassed level of comfort and accessibility for a variety of exercise routines and combinations.  The reformers are adapted for power classes with planking bars, for dynamic bodyweight classes.

Pilates is a progressive exercise program. It is essential to learn the principles first, layering in the exercises in stages. Once confident and strong with the beginning and movements, the time would be right to progress. Muscles build from the centre out and the whole system works with breath, the breathing the most essential principle to master.
