Personal Pilates tuition is the best way to kick-start your Pilates practice and to ease yourself into group classes. It can be daunting to join a group if you have no experience and do not know the basic Pilates principles. A personal training session is a great opportunity to choose what you want to do, whether it be a mat class, rehabilitation from surgery, or strengthening your body in preparation for any life or sporting event, or challenge. The exercises will be tailored to meet your requirements and with your goal in mind.
In a typical session, you may become aware, through teacher assessment and guidance, of any postural problems or movement limitations or muscular imbalances. These areas will be pinpointed and exercises prescribed to remedy imbalance and promote better movement, and alignment
A minimum of two personal tuition sessions is required for assessment and prescription of a home exercise program.

Pilates is a progressive exercise program. It is essential to learn the principles first, layering in the exercises in stages. Once confident and strong with the beginning and movements, the time would be right to progress. Muscles build from the centre out and the whole system works with breath, the breathing the most essential principle to master.
True flexibility can only be achieved when all muscles are uniformly developed.
