ABOUT PILATES IN SEVENOAKS
Helen Whitaker, the founder of Pilates in Sevenoaks, started teaching Pilates classes in local community halls and venues in 2008, after relocating from London. Since then, she has grown and developed the business, with a wider offering of community mat classes, fitness and studio reformer classes. Recently, she has developed LIVE Online class delivery with a full weekly timetable of classes daily.
Her first reformer studio opened in Sevenoaks town centre in 2016, to compliment the community mat and fitness offering and to provide more accessible Pilates tuition to a wider population, promoting the unique benefits the Pilates reformer has to offer.
The studio has now grown and relocated to larger premises, and with this new space comes more variety. Apparatus now incorporates combo chairs and arcs, as well as Pilates small conditioning props. Group classes on the reformer and converted mats take place in Studio 1.
In the same building, Studio 2 houses the full studio apparatus including trapeze table, ladder barrel and combo chair, training, teaching and rehabilitating individuals and duos.
A more recent addition (October 20) is The Pod, a second individual and private training and teaching space, with reformer and tower, and combo chair. A full range of small apparatus is provided in this exclusive private space.
A limited number of mat classes in the Community run from Chevening Church Hall, Chipstead.
